Enjoying a good night's sleep is important to your health

Lack of sleep and quality of sleep is a common problem in Australia that is reported to affect between 33% – 45% of Australian adults.  

Sleep is crucially important for our minds to function, and it provides rest for our body so that it has the opportunity to restore, repair and strengthen itself.  Without adequate sleep it can have a significant impact on your health. 

If you are sleep-deprived, try some of the following sleep tips to help you sleep soundly.

If sleep problems persist, please see your GP for diagnosis and treatment. 

Sleep Tip #1

Go to bed when you’re tired, and keep sleep and wake-up times consistent.

Sleep Tip #2

Avoid eating for two to three hours before bedtime.

Sleep Tip #3

Exercise during the day - even 10 minutes can positively affect sleep.

Avoid sleep ‘thieves’, like alcohol and caffeine

Sleep Tip #5

Turn off electronics and limit your use before bedtime
